The struggle

I find my self struggling at university to really re-spark my creative instincts, and have fallen into a demotivated slump.

But I know I can do better, there for i must do better. I cannot carry on happily with a negative mind.

Regenerating Creative Inspiration

If your day is anything like mine your mind is constantly bamboozled with new thoughts, creative ideas and inspirations. Sometimes this can be quite tiring on the brain, fatigue can inset itself into your mind and become a blockade for new creative direction.

You may feel sometimes that your mind begins to work in a straight forward motion seeing past opportunities for new creative direction off the track and it can be difficult to get the creative juices going again, however help is at hand with a few cheeky tips to keep you thinking.

Brainstorming

This practice involves a individual or a group putting down their thoughts to a problem on a piece of paper to make them visible, this allows for you to track your thought avenues and expand on existing creative ideas.

Lateral Thinking

Lateral thinking is a creative process that encourages you to think about the not so obvious answer, it is important to disrupt the conventional patterns adopted by the brain. It allows you to try new concepts instead of trying harder on existing concepts.

Discussion

Discussions with your friends or family can lead to spontaneous creative ideas, discussing your creative thoughts with other people can help with seeing from different perspectives.

There are many ways to find creative inspiration it is all around us you just have to see it. Simply changing your thought patterns provokes new ideas, don’t forget to think outside the box and tackle your problems from a different angle.

Remember to always innovate and implement change..

INSPIRATION IN MOVEMENT

When we find inspiration this is known as a stimulus, the inspiration has caused a reaction within ones self that causes you to act out in a certain manner, thus stimulating a new behavior.

Now, we constantly have stimulus around us all the time sparking new behavioral patterns, new thought patterns and even changes in our lives. However, confronted day to day by the same stimulus’ our brains become numb, the reaction from the same stimulus becomes less and less and we no longer get the same feelings we once did from said stimuli. For example, to constantly eat your favorite food day in day out it would be very likely you would become sick of it, and it would temporarily no longer be your favorite food (I say temporarily because the stimulus can be regained over time without any exposure to the given stimuli).

A way to irradiate numbness.

Ridding yourself of becoming numb to your surroundings through simply MOVING. Movement is life, when ever your in danger movement will keep you alive, when ever your life feels trapped movement will re-energize your life, movement is the key!

When I say movement i mean to travel, getting up having a little jig then sitting back down may make you feel lifted but it is a temporary solution to the bigger picture.

Why travel, why move?

Traveling is not just about sandy beaches and late night parties, travel if you want it to can be the up most lifting and life enhancing tool one can ever use because of three little things we all encounter everyday but get to see through a different perspective.

People

Cultures

Stories

People are everywhere, and a lot can be learned from people. The person sat within close radius of you right now could probably teach you a lesson about something you never even knew existed, no matter how brief or unrelated you find it to yourself it is knowledge. When traveling you will get meet hundreds hopefully thousands of new diverse PEOPLE, i mean how amazing is that, what could be more invigorating. Making new friends, connections, bridging the gaps between race and religion and coming to the realization that we are all ONE together as earths PEOPLE.

With new people comes new cultures, new ways of living, new beliefs. Becoming aware of the different cultures on our planet is something we all need to do because it allows us to view from a different perspective which is important in understanding each other. Experiencing new cultures can help you find where your culture or yourself may have been going wrong in areas of your life, you’ll find that somethings really don’t matter that you may have stressed out about repeatedly, and that you need to draw more attention to certain aspects of your life to better yourself, which without travel and experience would have led you into a downward spiral of constant stress and loss of directional purpose.

Last but not least is something that I believe keeps the world moving, drives ambition and the creative/imaginative spark in society and that is STORIES. Human beings since the beginning of man have told stories, on cave walls, in libraries, around fires, at holy gatherings, anywhere you go anyone you meet has a story behind it and the best stories are the big ones with great details although sometimes a little exaggerated that is the grace of story telling build your structure for your story, how would you like your life to be spoke about, mystical adventures or stressful late nights on excel.

Now look around you, do you still get the same buzz from your surroundings or do you feel the urge to find better new things on the walk of life.

Do something drastic, make a change GO SEE THE WORLD!

Inspiration from the INNERVERSE

Image

The innerverse is the universe within ones self, its the place where we dream, drift, dwell on past memories and future revelations. It is also the place to become present and ‘one’ with yourself. The innerverse is a place of endless possibilities when you focus your attention becomes a world without laws, it becomes your ‘real’ world where your sub-conscious once buried can come through and your wildest emotions portrayed that you may not have realized were inside you.

Searching for inspiration in your immediate world does not create enough real emotion you need to look deeper, see further.

Meditation once/twice a day can help you to access this innerverse unlocking vast potential and new direction in your life. Meditation is not sitting/laying with your eyes closed waiting, mediation is a journey one which when you start becomes hard to stop, take the leap of faith into the pool of sub conscious and drown yourself with endless possibilities, then re-emerge a better person.

Meditation at first can be difficult, and just like going to the gym and exercising your muscles, you start on low weights and build up. Your brain is a muscle and needs to treated the same, starting with just 30 seconds of pure mediation is better than 10 minutes of unsure meditation, work yourself up slowly. Like in the universe the innerverse takes time to master, and when your attention wonders bring it back to the center and start again.

A good tip for beginners when meditating is to go into your journey with a question already devised one which you can ask your higher self for guidance to answering.

Recognizing creative inspiration

Trying to put together an idea for my first blog is difficult; I guess I am trying to find my creative inspiration, trying to unlock the voice within which guides me on my path to a successful blog.

I have found inspiration in the quest for discovering what inspires us differently as individuals, those people around you. What do they see that I or you don’t in sometimes the most trivial of objects or situations, what do you see? I want to know! It intrigues me.

When the potential is recognized and the notion is put into place, that inner voice speaking out to you saying what if? Go on, try it? Everyone is different and we all read things differently and see things in our own light, it is important to remember this when trying to understand people in the quest for self mastery.

Creative inspiration has some common threads such as pushing boundaries, taking risks, discovering, staying focused, working hard, persevering, being original, and experiencing the unknown  or better still, inventing the unknown.

Those who find thinking creatively natural to them fit a specific personality type, which has seven different traits and can be read here.

To unlock your creative inspiration you need to start thinking like a creative in a direction in which you have dedication and ambition. Listen to your heart and do what you want to do, be it art music literature or anything else in the universe. Often, creative success is about that commendable combination of talent and dedication. Don’t stop. Before you know success you must be at peace with failure.

The creative thinker within can be over shadowed by the constant mental chatter, it is important when on the search for inspiration that the mind is a peaceful place. It is important to get things you want doing, done. This relieves your mind of slavery to the thought, making room for that inner voice to come to your attention, revealing to inspiration.
